As a member of the maintenance team under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all directed maintenance duties are completed in a timely and professional manner. This includes the completion of the Daily Maintenance List as well as being accommodating to guests and their requests and working together with other members of the maintenance team. Although you will have a set list of tasks to accomplish throughout the da you will be required to fit in time sensitive and guest requests in addition to your set tasks. The general scope of the work is the upkeep of all resort buildings, parking areas, common guest areas and facilities. You must be able to report and communicate the work you have done and develop a observational eye to report work that needs to be done. Most of all you need to be willing to learn and proactive in your problem-solving abilities on site.

• Troubleshooting and repair of equipment and equipment preventative maintenance • light plumbing duties and light electrical duties (supervised)

• Pickup materials/tools/products within Tofino

• Painting and refurbishing of furniture and cabin interiors

• Groundskeeping, including constructing new planters, upkeep of existing planters, tree trimming, grass cutting etc.

• Jumpstarting/assisting with automotive issues around the resort

• Assist in the construction of new projects such as fences, gates, walkways etc.

• Greet guests with a smile and answer their questions as required

• Ensure work area and work trucks are kept in a clean and professional manner, ensuring proper tools and equipment are available when needed

• Performing tasks, updating and contributing to the maintenance list

• Maintain an ongoing knowledge of room locations, types of rooms and all services of the resort

• Proactively attend to guest complaints in a professional manner and relay important information to its respective department head

• Cleaning and maintaining guest facilities

• Cleaning duties include window washing, patio cleaning, pressure washing, hot tub maintenance and other related duties • Removal and Disposal of garbage and recycling

• Protect the health and safety of yourself and others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the resort common areas and guest amenities/facilities

• Strive to advance your knowledge, skills, and abilities and consistently share these with others Work Conditions

Qualifications 
  • Valid BC Drivers license
  • Legal working status
  • Physical capability of lifting up to 45lbs
  • Safe operation of pick-up truck
  • Knowledge of manual transmission
  • Safe operation of power tools/hand tools
  • Knowledge of common home/appliance repair
