Details 
The position will be directly accountable to the Community Capacity Project Coordinator and/or Designate.
 
Purpose
To train and provide work experience for one Aboriginal individual to learn the many different aspects of the various programs of the Friendship Center.  
Tasks
• Will train on reception, photocopying, faxing, and direct clients to the appropriate services.  
• Assist with programs with planning
• Assist with Client in-take for various programs
• Organize schedules and booking facilities
• Update brochures, manuals, annual reports and posters
• Assist with coordination and implementation of events
• Assist Program Staff with Youth, Community and Elders programming
• Assist with Enhanced child-minding and program activities
• Assist with organizing and providing activities for children at the Oowattin Cultural Camp
• Assist with the Elders and Youth Cultural Camp
Qualifications 
Requirements
• MUST be an Aboriginal individual
• Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
• Must be highly flexible, patient, understanding and personable
• Understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal peoples culture and values
• Able and willing to work in a Team setting
• Willing to work evenings and weekends
• Possession of valid driver’s license and reliable transportation an asset
• Must be willing to assist with all fundraising and recreational activities as required
• Must be willing to submit to a criminal record check
