Project Manager / Trainer 
Ucluelet Business & Employment - Retention & Expansion (UBERE) Program
Reporting directly to the President of the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce, this position is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation & management of our Business & Employment - Retention & Expansion (UBERE) program.  The successful candidate will implement, coordinate, manage, evaluate and train and supervise staff to ensure the Ucluelet Business & Employment – Retention & Expansion (UBERE) Program will be successful and meet its goals and objectives. 
Project Duration - 12 months (from start date)
Key responsibilities: (research, analyze, manage, monitor, report & advise, supervise, train)
·         Introduce and engage with existing businesses and workforce to market the UBERE program
·         Assess the needs of existing businesses for retention and expansion purposes
·         Advise businesses on marketing, financing, workforce training, and business planning.
·         Research to expand inventory to include local commercial activities by out of town businesses
·         Develop survey and implementation plan
·         Develop project report card to gather and measure data
·         Provide analysis of business/services in the community of Ucluelet
·         Generate reports that confirm survey results of business development
showing strengths, weaknesses, uniqueness and opportunities
·         Provide support and orientation to the UBERE Committee
·         Train and supervise UBERE Program Continuity Facilitator to assist in all aspects of project delivery.
Qualifications 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

·       A graduate or current Masters Level education in the field of Business, Economic Development,
Environmental Studies (Business option) or Public Administration.
·       Experience and a working knowledge of small business communities preferred;
experience with communities that are seasonal in nature, an asset
·         Research experience including data collection management, analysis and generating reports 
·         Strong networking and relationship building skills
·         Understanding and appreciation of First Nation culture and protocols
·         Strong computer and data entry skills; detailed orientated
·         Strong communication and public presentation skills
·         Experience in training and human resource management
·         Ability to work a flexible work schedule (evenings, weekends)
·         Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license
