Our objective: The Centre provides services to those in need. The primary focus is a weekday free meals service for breakfast and lunch that relies principally on donated food. The Centre also hosts medical, counselling and other services. A weekend meal service is planned.

Your responsibilities and duties: Under the general direction of the Bread of Life Board, you will be responsible for administrative support, overseeing the day to day operations of the Centre and supervising paid staff and volunteers. You will have the skills to build relationships with those who use the centre’s services, and your enthusiasm in promoting a team spirit will be critical. You will develop our community relations and work on fund-raising, grant applications, and organize special events. Your role in maintaining a viable volunteer base will be vital to our success. Taking responsibility for the implementation and development of our program and policies, you will attend Board meetings to report progress and make recommendations.

You will supervise kitchen staff who receive, sort and store food donations, and prepare meals. You do not need cooking skills in this job, but experience or knowledge of commercial kitchen procedures including health and safety regulations would be an asset, as would a Food Safe certificate.
