Kackaamin Family Development Centre www.kackaamin.org  is inviting individuals to apply for the various positions that we have available.  We are located in the beautiful city of Port Alberni.  We are requesting a cover letter, names of references, and a current resume.  Only those considered for any of the positions will be contacted.  

FAMILY THERAPIST

Kackaamin Family Development Centre is seeking a Family Therapist to work with families at our trauma informed treatment centre for two (2) days a week.  This is a contract position and the successful candidate will work with the program on a weekly basis (Thursday and Friday)  and the Family Therapist will provide couples and family counselling.  

Qualifications 
  • A Masters Degree in Family Therapy, Social Work, Counselling Psychology or related field
  • Registration in Good Standing with a professional/regulating body
  • Experience in Trauma based counselling
  • Experience and knowledge of mental health issues, addictions, workplace stress, grief and loss
  • Experience in group therapy
  • Experience in play based interventions
  • Experience in working with First Nations families and communities
  • Experience in working with children
  • Strong personal boundaries and familiarity with ethical issues
  • Personal Wellness Plan
  • Criminal Record Check.
