The Tseshaht First Nation Administration Office is now accepting applications for the position of
Social Development & Health Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time position at 65
hours bi-weekly (32.5 hours per week), Monday through Friday, with some flexibility as to daily
work hours possible.

JOB PURPOSE
The Social Development & Health Administrative Assistant reports to the Social Development &
Health Program Manager and is responsible for assisting with the administrative delivery of
Social Development & Health programs and services.

Qualifications 

JOB SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The successful applicant will possess skills and experience in the following areas:
• Grade 12 or equivalent, with post-secondary course training relevant to working in the
office services or health care fields of work being of definite asset;
• A genuine interest in assisting in the office delivery of Social Development, Family
Support, and Health Services;
• Previous work experience with performing general office or Social Development
administrative work is an asset;
• Willing to learn and able to work independently to complete assigned administrative
tasks;
• Proven competencies with use of computers and software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and
database programs);
• Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities to work in a team environment;
• Strong oral and written communication skills;
High standard of ethics; able to administer social development program in accordance to
policy;
• Well organized and able to maintain client files accurately and have a keen attention to
detail;
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Department of Indigenous Services Canada
(DISC) Income Assistance Policy would be an asset, or willing to learn this policy;
• Able or willing to learn to process income assistance benefits including client intakes and
monthly cheque issue and other related duties;
• Valid class 5 or 7 BC driver’s license

• Knowledge and experience with Nuu-chah-nulth culture and protocols considered an
asset.
