Reporting to the Event Coordinator & Site Manager, the Junior Event Coordinators will be expected to prepare the site, assist with event setup/tear down and act as a point of contact to event staff, volunteers, guests & vendors. This position requires some physical work, and the ability to plan for and manage multiple components and changing priorities.

Qualifications 

FUNCTIONS:

1. Serves as a liaison between volunteers, staff, managers & vendors to ensure communication and proper event execution

2. Main setup and tear down personnel for all fall & winter events

3. Oversees site cleanliness following and preceding all events

4. Assists with the management of event equipment, ensuring proper care, storage and safety precautions are followed

5. Assists with promotions and marketing for all fall & winter events

6. Acts as a point of contact to volunteer and support staff on event day

7. Supports the success of all events through completion of all other assigned tasks

Skills and Qualifications: 

-Must identify as a Metis, Inuit or First Nations person

-Be residing in the Alberni Valley during work placement

 

SKILLS

1. Ability to multi-task and work with changing priorities is required

2. Ability to work with others in a group setting and with volunteers is required

3. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. & be comfortable preforming sometimes physically demanding work

Previous experience in hospitality, tourism or events is considered an asset

First Aid, CPR, & Food Safe certificate are considered assets
