We’re looking to add someone to our “lifers” list and join the pack of nomads that live and work at the campground full time.
The position: Grounds Manager
What we’re looking for:
Someone with building, landscaping and management experience and is self-motivated to get tasks done. You can’t be afraid to work hard and get dirty. If you don’t have these skills, we’re willing to train and work with you, if you’re the right fit. Knowing how to use a broom is a must though. We draw the line there.
This is a great position for someone to take the reigns, create projects, build stuff, and help us make our campground better and more unique. We love and support any creative projects.
The pay for this position will reflect your skills that you bring to the table and will increase with your experience over the years and with what duties you take on (and off our plate).
Duties:
-helping us expand our campground
-scheduling and hiring grounds staff
-overseeing the campground’s grounds
-maintaining our water system and hot tub
-doing and submitting water samples in Port Alberni bi-monthly
-creating and expanding grounds systems: how we clean, how and where we store tools and gear for grounds.
-dealing with all campground emergencies; whether it’s a rock in our septic system or someone that got their trailer stuck in an area clearly labeled “no trailers”.
-making trails
-landscaping
-making campers happy
-enforcing our bear policy and that our grounds staff are following through
