Job purpose

The Relief Night Auditor is responsible for friendly and efficient check-in/out to our guests.  The Night Auditor provides guests with a high degree of knowledge at the Best Western Tinwis, Tofino and other local attraction and activities. To audit, balance and consolidate departmental ledger accounts, prepare various hotel operating reports and take over duties of Front Office Cashier.               

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist guest with arrivals & departures
  • Handle guests’ concerns
  • Offer referral for services and handle requests
  • Assist with group check-ins and check-outs
  • Assist other departments as required

 

Qualifications 

Qualifications

Knowledge and Certification

  • Previous experience in customer service is an asset
  • Ability to use a variety of computer applications
  • Must be efficient in Excel
  • Working knowledge of the facility, services and local area
  • Knowledge of Visual Matrix PMS is an asset, but not required
  • To post all daily room and outstanding charges
  • To balance all revenue totals of cash and credits against revenue report
  • To take over from the evening cashier, checking and accepting float and takings
  • To accept revenue and floats from restaurant cashiers, ensuring that these are securely locked away
  • To accept and lock away keys from various departments
  • To prepare hotel operating reports and complete audit package to laid-down standards
  • To correct any errors or omissions made by cashiers
  • To prepare Credit Card/Charge Card summaries and post to ledger account
  • To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance

Working conditions

  • Must be able to work graveyard shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work three 10 hour shifts per week (10pm-8am)
  • Fast paced work environment
  • High level of guest interaction

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours
