For the current upcoming 2019 season our businesses will be looking to fill three positions, which you may find the job descriptions outlined below. We are looking for hard working, self-motivated people to begin immediately with our establishments in April 2019; Exact dates yet to be announced. We will be taking in resumes and cover letters from prospective job seekers in a growing and fast paced work environment. The House of Himwitsa Art Gallery carries some of the most beautiful and delicate works created by over 150 different artists which we support, in conjunction with the Himwitsa Art Gallery we also operate the Himwitsa Lodge, a highly rated 4 Star Lodge to which we maintain the highest of standards. Our Dockside Smoked Fish Store is a great attraction with the best Wild Caught, Sustainably Harvested and Naturally Smoked Salmon you can find in Tofino, we also sell island produced canned fish/shellfish products among many other delicacies.
House of Himwitsa Native Art Gallery Sales Representative Hiring two part time employees for the 2019 season; duties will include but are not limited to:
• Assisting customers with product knowledge
• Assisting customers with sales using a standard POS Terminal System
• Restocking of product
• General maintenance
• Dusting/Cleaning displays, floors, and surfaces around the gallery
• Packaging and prepping product for shipping
• Maintaining stock levels and ensuring proper pricing/tagging is affixed
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Knowledge of Native West Coast Artwork/Culture is an important asset considered upon hiring
• Training will be provided although no previous experience is required, but previous experience with retail work is an asset
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 201bs
• Must be able to arrive on time for required shifts and retain exemplary time management skills
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, sales and working on the floor require standing/walking consecutively for the duration of shifts
• Must be able to work well independently as well as in a group
