Clayoquot Action is a Tofino-based conservation society committed to protecting the biocultural diversity of Clayoquot Sound. Our goals are accomplished through public education, citizen research and monitoring, and advocacy. The vision is simple: to keep Clayoquot Sound clean and green for future generations, to preserve the diversity and integrity of the ecosystems, and to maintain and develop community and cultural richness.

We are currently looking to build a team to increase our capacity to run strategic, people-powered campaigns to protect wild salmon.
We currently have an opportunity for a tech-savvy communicator to join our growing team in our new Digital Campaigner role. 

The successful candidate will work with the Campaigns Director to develop and run Clayoquot Action’s social media strategy.

Qualifications 

You are:

• Passionate about protecting Clayoquot Sound
• Interested in working with a strategic and action-oriented organization
• Organized and able to balance daily tasks with responding quickly to real-time events as they unfold
• Able to learn and utilize online and digital technologies as needed
• Interested in growing with the organization

Experience or training in the following would be considered strong assets:
• Strong communication skills including:
• visual storytelling with a keen ability to identify and generate stories, 
• ability to use digital tools to enhance Clayoquot Action’s social media presence, brand identity, and fundraising
• Strong technical skills including: 
• using Content Management Systems (WordPress; Squarespace)
• using Customer Relationship Management databases (Salesforce)
• using mass email programs (MailChimp)
• digital design
