Creative Salmon is Canada’s first certified organic salmon aquaculture company, based in Tofino, British Columbia. We are seeking a Safety and Training Practitioner to assist our team in skill development and to help foster an engaged safety culture while achieving the Occupational Safety Standard of Excellence.
This two-year contract position will be based from one of our four sea sites near Tofino (staff accommodation is not provided). Because regular trips to the sea sites as well as our hatchery near Duncan will be required, job requirements include a valid driver’s license and minimum Pleasure Craft Operator ticket.
The Practitioner will work with our various departments to help build and deliver required training and skill development as well as to build and deliver required safety programming
• A formal Health & Safety designation combined with employment experience is preferred, but not required. This is a hands-on position working in the field with staff on a regular basis combined with some desk time creating programming, checking regulations, etc.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills required, coupled with the ability to train staff and orient employees to their role in safety.
