Grocery Clerk

Job Purpose:

As a Grocery Clerk with the Tofino Co-op, you are responsible for delivering personalized service. At the Co-op, we strive to establish a relationship with our members and encourage them to continue their patronage. Reports to the Grocery Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
• Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
• Provide outstanding courteous customer service
• Be familiar with and adhere to all Tofino Co-op policies and procedures
• Ensure the store and warehouse is neat, clean, and well merchandised at all times
• Be familiar with and adhere to all Tofino Co-op policies and procedures
• Establish or identify price of goods, services or admission and tabulate total payment required using electronic or other cash register, optical price scanner or other equipment
• Assist in general stock duties, including filling shelves, facing merchandise and put away items, when not cashing
• Perform receiving duties when required
• Have a good working understanding of the till operation
• Other duties as assigned

Starting wage is $16.75 and a full benefits package is available once probation is completed plus an increase in wage.

Grocery Clerks are required to work evenings until  8pm and weekends. Part-time hours for immediate hire and  Full-time hours May to October.
