Lead Barista

We are hiring for full-time employment in our Barista & Customer Service department immediately.                                         

Zoe’s Bakery & Cafe provides a baked goods and a variety of lunch items, consisting of a daily gourmet sandwich, home-made soup, and a selection of deli salads and spreads. Our style uses locally sourced, seasonal ingredients; emphasizing scratch-made whole foods - organic when possible, seasonal always and focussing on minimal waste. We are a training bakery with opportunities to learn for those interested in pursuing a career in the culinary industry.                     

Duties include

• Operating our espresso machine - producing consistent specialty hot & cold beverages; communicating with customers/fellow employees to efficiently serve food & drink; train customer service staff to keep all beverage at a consistent high quality; keeping a clean station (food service area or coffee station); carrying out supplementary tasks as directed by management to ensure the bakery & small team work efficiently.
• Serving Alcohol- Understanding liquor laws and rules that go with a food primary license.
• Strong communication and people skills are integral as Zoe’s Bakery is an open kitchen. All positions at Zoe’s Bakery require direct involvement with customers, assisting front-line staff with coordinating service and providing overall support in our fast-paced, team-oriented, community-focussed environment.
