Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Marine Adventure Centre Supervisor to join our Adventures Team. This position is responsible for performing and overseeing all aspects of the Marine Adventure Centre (MAC) while on duty and provides support to the Adventure + Marine Operations Manager on a range of matters including reporting and inventory. A good knowledge of both the dock and Adventure desk duties is also essential. This is a great position for someone looking to grow into a management position in the tourism industry. As the Marine Adventure Centre Supervisor, you supervise the team that are the face of adventure at our resort, and often the first face customers see as they step off the boat of float plane, ready for adventure.  
Role responsibilities
  • Oversee daily MAC operations, supervise MAC team effectively and support dock team as required
  • Conduct monthly inventory count  
  • Assist on dock if needed 
  • Managing customer experience including customer feedback
  • Carries out regular performance reviews and staff meetings supported by the Adventures + Marine Operations Manager
  • Create, implement and deliver marina policies and procedures, ensuring that all marina staff conduct their duties in the same manner lead by example
  • Learn and use TRM software

Daily MAC responsibilities including:

  • Responsible for promoting and selling various adventure tours and packages, including Whale Watching, Bear Watching, Hot Springs Cove or Fishing trips
  • Responsible for checking in/out moorage, tours, hotel guests, float plane flights and rental vessels and equipment
  • Operating the POS system to process all sales related to marina and hotel including retail
  • Ensure clear communication and tour planning to enable delivery of safe and enjoyable tours including booking captains, VHF communication and accurate waivers completion
  • Assisting with tying up Float Planes and TRM tour vessels as required 
  • Answer phone calls and email enquiries
Qualifications

  • Ability to supervise, delegate and follow up on task completion
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Knowledge of boating practices and boating knots 
  • Strong sales and customer service skills  
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent 

Preferred

  • Eco-tourism/marine background an asset
  • Experience with Marina Controller or WebRezPro software an asset
  • Retail and inventory management experience an asset
  • Knowledge of Clayoquot sound and experience operating a boat an asset
  • ROC-M are an asset
