Job Summary 

As the Adventure Specialist, you will be the face of adventure at our resort, and often the first point of contact with customers as they step onto our docks, ready for adventure.  The Adventure Specialist is responsible for performing and overseeing all aspects of the Dock while on duty. This is a great position for someone with a passion for all things adventure and who enjoys bringing guests along for the ride. Adventure awaits.     

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver highest level of professionalism and customer service for all fishing and ocean adventure tours on site while taking care of all moorage and hotel guests encountered. 
  • Assist with implementation of departmental safety procedures and participate in scheduled training exercises 
  • Prepare and maintain equipment on all vessels required for tours 
  • Safely operate TRM vessels to deliver wildlife, adventure and fishing tours and provide a high quality tour experience for guests  
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout assigned boat  
  • Follow all TRM Marine Adventure Centre SOP’s, spill response guidelines and adhere to all Transport Canada requirements.  
  • Prompt communication with Marine Adventure Centre office with regards to shifts and scheduling 
  • Champion “best practices” when it comes to the marine environment and all things that live in it. 
  • Lead dock operations during all tournaments and philanthropic events  
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications 
  • Inspired by Adventure   
  • A passion for the ocean and adventure 
  • Outgoing, organized and reliable 
  • Experience as fishing captain (Minimum 3 years) 
  • Strong customer service and communication skills  
  • SVOP, MED A3, Marine Basic First Aid &CPR and ROC-M  
  • Strong work ethic & ability to take initiative 
  • Physically fit 
  • Knowledge of Clayoquot Sound 
  • Champion TRM Fish for the Future philanthropic initiatives pertaining to the ocean environment
