Tofino Kombucha is a certified organic kombucha producer located in Tofino, BC with a mission to be your gateway to better nutrition and better health. With our recent brewery expansion, we are now looking for another kombucha brewer who wants to grow with us! Are you a person that is hard-working, dedicated and self-directed who has a positive attitude, and loves kombucha as much as we do?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the brewing of kombucha in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure
  • Adherence to and compliance with Food Safety and Sanitation Plans
  • Measure and document ingredients, sources, lot numbers, Ph readings, etc
  • Clean and sanitize kegs, fermentation vessels, and brite tanks
  • Cleaning and tidying of packaging equipment and surrounding areas
  • Operate boilers, pumps and other brewery equipment
  • Assist with keeping inventory of raw ingredients, packaging materials and finished products
  • Assist with operation of automated canning system
  • Fulfill online orders and prepare distributor orders for shipment
  • Perform and complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required
  • Deliver local orders within Tofino and Ucluelet
  • Exercise extreme discretion when dealing with all proprietary information at all times
  • Represent the company at events by pouring kombucha and engaging with event participants

$18/hr starting wage, $20/hr plus full benefits after 3-month probationary period with opportunity for growth and wage increase

  • Ability to work in a production environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong record keeping and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Proactive in learning and staying up to date in production methods
  • General computer knowledge / skills
  • Mechanically inclined an asset

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping (canning)
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs (lifting kegs and bags of sugar)
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation (canning)
  • Occasional use of ladders
  • Work in wet and cold or hot and humid environments and subject to noise
  • Work with dangerous and hazardous cleaning chemicals

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a brewery setting including setting up hoses, checking carbonation, using CIP systems or any brewery packaging would be considered an asset

Required License or Certification:

  • Driver's License
  • Food Safe Level 1
