As a Housekeeping Supervisor you will work in tandem with the Housekeeping Manager to coordinate, train and supervise the cleaning staff, inspect guest rooms and public areas and ensure lodge standards are being met. While supporting and overseeing a staff ranging from 6-20 employees, depending on the season, the Housekeeping Supervisor will juggle many demands and shifting priorities. A keen attention to detail and proven ability to 

problem solve are required. We provide Subsidized Staff Accommodation on-site within a 10 minute walk to work and a 10 minute walk to the beach.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with running the morning meeting, organizing the teams and room assignments for the day and lead the day in the absence of the housekeeping manager.
  • Lead and monitor the day-to-day operations to ensure service, safety and sanitation standards are followed.
  • Ensure that staff are working efficiently to complete assigned tasks on time.
  • Complete thorough room checks for arrival units before signing off on them as clean. Ensure all necessary amenities are present and that the unit is spotless, free of maintenance issues and well presented.
  • Report necessary maintenance items and ensure they are addressed and completed prior to check-in.
  • Assist with conducting supply inventories and audits and ordering items as needed.
  • Supervise and assist in additional projects as required.
  • Complete daily pass over reports as requested.
  • Compile and submit completed cleaning checklists to the Housekeeping Manager and Manager of Rooms.
  • Assist with laundry, room stripping, and other duties as required.
  • Liaise with Front Desk and ensure thorough communication of room statuses.
  • Perform various cleaning duties in instances of staff shortages (ie- when staff are sick or on vacation, etc.).
  • Promote a positive team environment with a focus on communication, cooperation and respect.
  • Report any ongoing performance or attitude concerns to the Housekeeping Manager and Manager of Rooms and assist with disciplinary action as required.
  • Recommend promotions, transfers and dismissals.
Qualifications 
  • Organized with great attention to detail
  • Arrives to work on time and is present for all scheduled shifts
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
  • Occasional ascending and descending ladders and stairs
  • Must be able to work safely with a variety of cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team
  • Schedule flexibility, including weekends and holidays
  • SIN card and Visa requirement: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
