The Receptionist is one of the most important positions in any organization. They are responsible for the patient’s first impression. They help set the mood within the clinic and are vital to maintaining efficient patient flow and preparing patient records. Our receptionist will be a team player and will be expected to greet patients personally, professionally and handle all telephone calls and mail requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Distributing patient forms
  • Coordinating specialist referrals
  • Handling web store transactions
  • Prescription release
  • Mail handling
  • Confirming patient appointments
  • Other duties as requested by leadership team
Qualifications 

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in use of internet and Microsoft Office
  • Solid keyboarding skills: 50 WPM
  • Excellent spelling and clear communication
  • Reception / customer service experience
  • Familiarity with optometry or medical office protocols an asset but not necessary
  • Familiarity with lenses, tints, coatings, sunglasses and frames an asset but not necessary
  • Strong ability to function on multiple tracks at the same time
  • Self-starter with willingness to move things forward in a professional manner
