Location: Eighth Avenue Learning Centre
EALC is developing a new program to focus on significantly at risk youth in the community. These youth are largely dis-engaged from school and are generally facing addiction, mental health and personal trauma issues.
YCW will be responsible for the pick up and drop off of youth participating in the program. The applicant must have a valid Class 4 driver’s license for in community based group transportation. The YCW will work with the teacher of the EALC program to provide support services to students in school and will collaborate with community agencies providing care and support to youth to ensure life stability for each youth.
YCW will be expected to participate in hands on career and life skills opportunities in support of all students in the program. Start time will be 10:00am, with an end time of 4:30 pm. The YCW will, at times, be providing outreach to youth and families and will be working one on one and in small groups to facilitate a transition back to a more regular presence in school and healthier lifestyle.
