Hetherington Industries has a full time employment opportunity for an assistant controller. Reporting to the Controller, the position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties utilizing Sage 50 Quantum.

Accounts receivable reconciliation and collections
Accounts payable entry and reconciliation including extensive contra with customers
Bi-weekly payroll for 30+ employees including government remittances
Human resource activities including safety program and WCB
Yearend support and file preparation
Scheduling, dispatching, and customer service
Reception relief as required

Qualifications

Minimum five years’ experience in full cycle accounting environment using Sage 50 (Simply Accounting)
Strong understanding of ASPE and the Income Tax Act as related to CCPC’s
Working knowledge of GST, PST, and WCB
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
Team player with excellent communication skills
