Haahuupayak School is seeking to hire a .4 teacher-librarian with educational technology expertise for the 2014-2015 school year to manage the growth of the school resource centre and promote the use of technology to support learning. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
*Oversee the library budget and the purchase of fiction and non-fiction resources
*Identify and purchase appropriate aboriginal fiction and non-fiction resources
*Teach appropriate library/internet research skills to classes
*Maintain appealing visual book displays in the library
*Organize the Book Fair and oversee Scholastic Book Purchases
*Promote value of reading and use of library to students and HHP community
*With library assistant, operate library 4U circulation and tracking system
*Assist teachers in assembling appropriate resources to support specific units of study
*Research and recommend useful educational software apps for iPads, Laptops
*Troubleshoot low level technology/computer glitches
*Hold a valid BC teaching certificate with elementary education focus
*Familiar with the use of iPads, Apps, and other supportive educational technologies
*Have reasonable technology skills
*Good collaborative and communication skills
