Island Work Transitions, Inc. provides employment services for the Employment Program of BC to the communities in the Alberni Clayoquot region of Vancouver Island. We are searching for a Resource Centre Advisor to provide front line support (28hrs/wk) for the Alberni Valley Employment Centre in Port Alberni.

Under the general direction of Island Work Transitions, Inc. Managing Directors, the Resource Centre Advisor provides:

Intake and reception services.
Awareness and navigation support to Clients on available employment resources, supports and services.
Management of Self-Serve Resource Centre.
Information on job opportunities, community services and employment resource materials to groups or one on one.
Assistance with equipment to aid in job searching, self-assessment tools and access to job search and employment focussed workshops.
Labour market information to job seekers and employers.
Facilitation of job search workshops

Qualifications

Key Requirements:

Experience in a related discipline such as human resources, education, or career counselling. Exceptional organizational and customer service skills are essential plus proven team work skills which demonstrate collaboration, flexibility & respectful relations with others.

Applicants must have strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, database systems, email and internet.
