The Homestead Tofino is a new small business owned by health care professionals who value an evidenced based approach to fitness, wellness and health promotion. We are opening a fitness and wellness retreat to instill in our clients the motivation, skills and knowledge to achieve long term fitness and enhanced wellness, to help people kick-start their weight loss and fitness goals during a one-week fitness retreat. Following this week we will maintain contact with our clients to ensure their ongoing commitment to the program. We will measure our success when our clients want to return again to pursue another level of fitness and wellness. The retreats will commence April 30th through to October 27th.

MISSION STATEMENT; Fitness and wellness comes from community, laughter, exercise, good food, sharing painful moments and joy, walking, talking, helping one another through difficult times, sharing the joy of accomplishments, braking bread, immersing yourself in nature and learning about possibilities you did not know existed.

This is a quality eight bed facility with three on site staff, an outdoor pursuits coordinator/facility manager, a fitness coordinator/lifestyle educator and a chef/nutrition educator. Physical activities will be off site more than on site, utilizing the spectacular world-renowned natural environment of Tofino, BC. On site activities will be dominated by the food and nutritional component of the retreat.

You will be working in a team of three in-house staff and engaging with off site community and small business services. We are looking for a fitness instructor who has a true passion for fitness, utilizing the outdoors with healthy, simple and exciting activities, and someone who enjoys sharing this passion and creativity with others to assist them in making healthy lifestyle choices for themselves and their families. You will be someone who understands the value in building therapeutic relationships with clients and then exceeding their expectations. You will be working on your own at times, therefor we are looking for a motivated individual as there will be a great deal of autonomy and decision making while engaging our clients. Our one-week retreat program will require your input and feedback to achieve continuous quality improvements.

Purpose of the Position; To assess, plan and lead healthy exciting activities based on the evidence known to date.
