The Port Alberni Port Authority has been approved for funding under the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and invites applications for seasonal summer employment between June 11th, 2018 and August 4th 2018, working at China Creek Campground.
Duties of the Seasonal Recreation Attendant include, but are not limited to: informing visitors of activities, facilitating rentals and sign outs of recreational items and equipment, planning, organizing and facilitating daily onsite and offsite recreational activities for the campground.
Successful applicants must be team oriented with an outgoing personality, enjoy working with children and have the ability to deal professionally with all users of the marina facilities. This is a fast-paced working environment, which includes working outdoors.
General knowledge of the Alberni Inlet, previous experience and knowledge of Port Authority marinas and China Creek Campground will be considered assets. Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and be flexible in assigned work schedules. Applicants must possess a valid BC driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
Under the qualifications for the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, applicants must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return on a full-time basis in the next academic year, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident and is legally entitled to work in Canada. The position is full time with 30 hrs of work per week and the rate of pay is $13.73/hr.
