Assist with ongoing operations for the Bamfield Community School Assn.
Plan and facilitate literacy programs and events for the Anacla/Bamfield community.
Maintain the Community Access Program site by providing technology access and assistance.
Perform tasks and assist with projects for the Bamfield Museum & Archives.
Organize the community library collection and create an online library system.
Develop and conduct summer camp activities for Anacla/Bamfield youth ages 5-13. -Design and maintain website and social media pages.
Start date: May 7th, 2018 End date: August 24, 2018
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and able to work independently, collaboratively and cooperatively.
Organized and self-motivated.
Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
Experienced in working with youth ages 5-13.
Comfortable living in a small, remote community.
Flexible work schedule - able to work some evenings and weekends
Applicants must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
