The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC)’s Fisheries Department (Uu-a-thluk), is seeking a full-time Fisheries Intern to join our team from May until the beginning of September.
The Fisheries Intern will be based in the NTC southern region office located in Port Alberni but may work out of any of the other regions throughout their term based on project opportunities.
Job Overview:
Activities will include a variety of fisheries management projects and duties, such as fisheries enforcement and compliance monitoring, monitoring and assessments of salmon, groundfish, crabs, prawns, gooseneck barnacles, and data processing and writing. Uu-a-thluk staff will provide training and mentoring in relevant job skills. Please note that this position is subject to funding.
A successful candidate will have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year. They will intend to return to post-secondary school on a full-time basis in the next academic year and will possess the following:
