The Parks Labourer is responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled parks, gardens and trails work, tasks and duties. These duties are generally physical in nature and require the use of simple tools and equipment. This position works a flexible work week of 40 hours including weekends and evenings. Performs routine tasks including, but not limited to: cleaning and clearing brush, culverts and ditches, weeding and grass cutting, construction and/or maintenance of District garden beds, trails and parks,refuse and litter pickup, sweeping and cleaning washrooms in a relief capacity to Public Works, painting buildings, signs and structures, unloading and moving supplies, and performing other related duties as required.
High school diploma or a combination of education and experience, possession of a valid B.C. DriversLicence Class 5, ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with other employees, supervisors and the general public,and must be physically capable of carrying out his/her assigned duties in all weather conditions.
