Under supervision, engage in routine duties involved in preparing and serving food, and in cleaning food service equipment.
Desirable qualifications are: Knowledge of kitchen and dining room work, good personal hygiene, sound knife skills and standard operation of kitchen appliances and equipment. Applicants must be able to learn routines involved in preparing and serving food, possess the ability to follow instructions both oral and written and be in good physical health. Candidates must possess a Food-safe level 1 (or be willing to take course). Candidates must be willing to work shifts (weekends, early morning or nights.) Pay rates for these positions range from $14.00 to $15.00 per hour plus benefits based on experience and qualifications.
The Bamfield Marine Science Centre operates from February 1st to December 15th. We offer a unique working environment in a unique setting. Staff accommodations are available for up to six months as transitional housing.

Applicants will be contacted in late March or early April for interviews and to arrange 3 day “paid tryouts” for these positions with meals, basic transportation costs and accommodations being provided by The Bamfield Marine Science Centre.
