The Tseshaht First Nation Administration Office is now accepting applications for a position of Research Assistant. This position is a summer student position at 60 hours bi-weekly (30 hours per week).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• This position will assist all departments in researching data for projects and/or events.
• Set-up displays of artifacts, art, and historic documents;
• Research cultural interpretive display/showcase;
• Prepare and verify inventories against physical contents of collections;
• Re-folder, re-box and label archival records, folders and artifacts;
• Perform routine preservation and data collection work;
• Create presentations and/or speeches on Tseshaht Cultural History and Language;
• Assist in the research and retrieval of information from the Cultural and Heritage Departments database;
• Assist with Community Contact Information Database & Membership Data ;
• Assist with other duties as directed by Supervisors and/or Managers
**Funding for this 8 week position is provided by the Canada Summer Jobs Program and as such, only Aboriginal (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) students, between 15-30 years of age are eligible to apply**
Eligibility / Requirement (s):
• Must be an Aboriginal Student returning to full time studies in Fall 2018.
• Must be between 15-30 years old.
• Class 5 driver’s license an asset.
• Interest in Tseshaht culture, language and history an asset.
