Ryder Contracting Ltd is seeking a Road Building Supervisor
The successful candidate must have a strong working knowledge of West Coast Road Building and experience in the Logging Industry.
Strong project planning, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills are essential. This position requires a highly dedicated individual who can lead and motivate others while managing several crews.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Work Site Logistics
• Equipment scheduling
• Daily road construction monitoring (specs & progress
Manage ROW Falling
• Manage Work Safe compliance
• Crew scheduling
Communication
• Proactive communication with management and personnel on a daily basis
• Strong emphasis on team
• Work and communicate with Clients & Contractors
Detailed daily log
• Job progression
• Personnel issues
• Journal: daily site activities
Repair & Maintenance
• Ensure Crew is maintaining all Equipment
• Communicate daily maintenance needs with Shop Manager
Pre-work
• Meet and review job specifications with crew and clients
• Pre-walk job sites
Safety Meetings
• Participate in monthly safety meetings
• Tailgate meetings to ensure appropriate BCFSC Compliance
Wage
• Negotiable to experience (includes Benefits and Pension)
