The Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre is searching for two full-time cooks for our fall and winter season. As members of our production team, these cooks will be involved in providing daily service to our students, researchers, and guests, as well as some special event production.
About us: The Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre (BMSC) is a shared satellite campus of five universities, operating educational programs from approximately February 1st to December 15th each year. BMSC is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the beautiful and remote village of Bamfield, British Columbia. Our kitchen provides healthy innovative meals for our student and research clientele as we strive to provide a "from scratch" culinary experience. The kitchen at BMSC is well equipped, clean, and fully functional to provide three meals a day for up to 150 diners.
A Red Seal is always preferred, FOODSAFE and Valid BC Driver's license are required. A sound background in all aspects of kitchen operation is a strong asset. We also welcome candidates with experience in catering production. These positions require a strong personality, the ability to take direction clearly and a desire to be a positive, reliable member of our crew. Cooks are responsible for daily breakfast, lunch and dinner production in our unionized work environment.
