We are looking for individuals to join our marine team for the 2019 season! Applicants must be willing to be a skipper for our 12 passenger vessel as well as work as a deckhand/naturalist on our 36 passenger vessel. Staff accommodation may be available for the right candidate.
Principle Responsibilities:
• Capable and willing to safely operate 12 passenger Cabin Cruiser WASCO and act as deckhand/naturalist on 36 passenger catamaran NANUQ as required by scheduling
• Ensure vessel is operating efficiently (e.g. regular maintenance)
• Communicate with sales staff regarding trips and scheduling
• Update fellow captains on emerging pertinent information
• Provide sales staff with updates on location of vessel throughout trip
• Maintain cleanliness throughout vessel
• Make sure vessel is stocked with necessary supplies
• Inform management of any issues and incidents promptly
• Provide information about the local wildlife and culture to passengers
• Perform regular safety drills throughout the season

• Second language an asset (Preferably German or French)
Qualifications:
• Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP)
• Marine Emergency Duties (MED) A2 or STCW Basic Safety
• Marine Basic First Aid
• Restricted Operator’s Certificate (Maritime) ROC-M
• Marine Emergency Duties (MED) B1 or STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats
• Unrestricted Small Vessel Machinery Operator (SVMO) an asset
