The Clayoquot Biosphere Trust (CBT) is seeking a full-time program coordinator to join our team for a one-year term.

This four-day per week position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver a range of grant streams and projects related to our role as a regional community foundation and UNESCO Biosphere. The program coordinator also delivers other regional programs administered under the CBT umbrella, specifically the Coastal Family Resources Coalition (CFRC).

Job Purpose
Consistent with the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere programme and the mandate of
community foundations, your responsibilities as Program Coordinator includes coordinating
projects related to core priorities and stewarding grant processes. The program coordinator also
delivers other regional programs administered under the CBT umbrella, specifically the Coastal
Family Resources Coalition (CFRC).
Duties and Responsibilities
Healthy Community and Ecosystem Initiatives
• Communicates the Vital Signs community health report and maintains a strong network of
partners who contribute to this ongoing program.
• Collects and collates regional community health data pertaining to the social determinants of
health.
• Communicates the Clayoquot Sound Living Wage Report and maintains a network of partners
who work together to address regional affordability issues.
Program Coordination
• Coordinates projects related to CBT core priorities which include Empowering Youth and
Healthy Communities and Ecosystems and seeks funds to support implementation.
• Develops and supports workshops, events, and presentations that build community capacity.
• Collaborates with other organizations to raise funds around shared goals and objectives.
• Delivers regional programs that are coordinated and administered under the CBT umbrella,
such as the Community Developer role of the Coastal Family Resources Coalition (CFRC).
Stewarding Granting Processes
• Supports the Vital Grants program and discretionary funds for three CBT advisory committees
(Community Development, Arts & Culture, and Youth & Education).
• Supports the CBT advisory committees (Community Development, Arts & Culture, and Youth &
Education) and manages the recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers.
• Maintains CBT’s online granting system, including responding to granting requests and grantee
reporting, and user inquiries.
• Conducts analysis on granting activity data for the annual CBT impact report and program
evaluation.
• Coordinates the CBT/Genus Education Award Program.
Community Relations
• Maintains the profile and presence of the CBT through visits to communities and attendance
at events.
• Participates in local and regional committees aligned with CBT’s UNESCO Biosphere and
Community Foundation mandate and programs.
Teamwork
• Provides day-to-day office presence and support as needed.
• Contributes content for all CBT communications.
