We are a carbon neutral adventure tour company located on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the village of Tofino. The majority of our corporate revenue goes back to the environment. We are committed to preserving the ecology of Clayoquot Sound through our various conservation initiatives and support of local organizations that provide education, research & monitoring, and the restoration of Clayoquot Sound. Our fun and educational programs are designed to cultivate and to imbue appreciation for the ecological value of our coastal ecosystems. What is this position about?
Our adventure tour guides primary goal is to ensure the safety of our each of our guests, and to provide memorable and educational experiences for visitors on the waters of Clayoquot Sound. Our guides are conservation minded educators, familiar with the local shoreline and its hazards. Captains will know how to safely operate a vessel in variable weather and sea conditions. Guides are also expected to have a thorough knowledge of local ecology, indigenous and migratory wildlife common to our region, a grasp of local First Nation’s history, and the ability to share their knowledge passionately with our guests. Guiding is a skilled position both from a vessel handling perspective and the interpretive skills required to deliver quality programs. Guiding is a high stamina job.
