At Hands-On Home-Learning for a sustainable world a DL teacher works with the student and family to support the Child's educational goals. As the Special Education Assistant, you will be supporting this child to meet their curricular and IEP goals in the home (and possibly community).
Hands-On Home-Learning is looking to work with someone who is responsive, timely, and has strong communication & computer skills. You will be asked to provide learning samples and to answer educationally relevant questions on a weekly basis (HOHL will provide the questions, and will support you in submitting work samples that are of good quality), along with your weekly invoice of hours. Finally, you will be working in someone's home, so having good interpersonal skills will be essential.
The skills and qualities that we are looking for in the Special Education Assistant includes someone who is skilled with working with someone who needs support with executive function, is familiar with creating executive function systems and assisting with planning, initiation and time organization, and someone who is looking to make positive connections with their students and makes learning FUN! The main goal is to connect, have fun, and help the student learn and express themselves in ways that are positive and meaningful.
