The Tofino Clayoquot Heritage Museum is seeking a youth between the age of 15 and 30 interested in regional heritage. The position is for an 8 week period after the start date.
Our community-oriented museum is a compact institution, requiring flexiblity of skills and adeptness of task management.
Due to Covid-19, task priorities may change to ensure safety of youth and guests. The youth will be primarily working at the "front desk", being the first point of interaction with visitors and locals alike. The youth will be mentored through a research project task with an end product of research/exhibition/display or other that interests the youth and benefits the musuem.
They will also be trained to deliver walking tours of 30 minutes to 1 hour throughout the town of Tofino. Tours will be delivered on Saturdays and Sundays so availability to work weekends is a must. Due to Covid-19, tours are currently onhold but we hope to offer them suring the summer and fall.
Mentorship in proper handling practices and archival procedures will be ongoing as the youth assists with collections and records management.
