Ecotrust Canada is seeking 5-Nation Fisheries Dockside Monitors for the 2021 Hook & Line (salmon and groundfish) demonstration fisheries. Monitors will be based in Tofino and work on the dock meeting fishing vessels as they land. Duties will be to monitor and document catch at offloads, and collect biological data on catch.
Fisheries are anticipated to commence April 01, 2021 and run until November 30, 2021. Actual length of fisheries is not known and set number of workdays is not guaranteed. Pursuant to Section 16(1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act, preference will be given to aboriginal candidates who have a working knowledge of Nuu-chah-nulth culture and fishing practices.

Casual - Seasonal (Up to 2 positions):
This is a casual employment opportunity which has daily scheduled shifts from 5PM-7PM. Monitors may be required to work weekends and holidays. Monitors will be paid (minimum) for a 4 hour call out for each shift. Monitors maybe be contacted for morning/afternoon call outs if they are available.
