Westcoast Community Resources Society is a charitable organization which shares the community’s vision that every member’s well-being is ensured. We have a number of ministry funded programs providing free and confidential services to community members on the west coast. The Personal and Program Manager is responsible for reviewing, updating and implementing HR policies, programs and procedures regarding recruitment, training and development, collective bargaining, compensation and job evaluation, discipline and/or labour relations issues. Responsible for managing assigned programs of the WCRS and may include other services mandated by contracts with government or private funding agencies. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the Human Resources (HR) for the WCRS, including Health and Safety. Be available as appropriate on an on-call basis for weekend coverage at Transition House.
1. Degree/Diploma in a related human/social service field.
2. A minimum of three years experience in women’s anti-violence work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
3. Two to five years of progressively more responsible experience as a personnel officer or human resources specialist with a demonstrated and in-depth working knowledge of human resources programs and services, applicable legislation and policies.
4. Two to five years of program management experience preferably in a related field and knowledge of relevant community based programs and services.
5. Motivational Interviewing or similar training would be an asset.
6. Full & valid BC. Drivers License, own vehicle in good working condition and appropriate insurance.
7. Successful criminal record check.
8 .Level 1 first aid with CPR
9.Food safe certification preferred
10.Local knowledge of the area and cultural sensitivity training
11. Non-Violent crisis intervention training preferred
