
Live in caretaker / cleaner required for busy guest house, with 3 rental suites, in Ucluelet, BC.
Caretaker will support the general guest house operations, by creating a comfortable atmosphere for guests. The caretaker will be responsible for the day-to-day interaction with the guests for their needs or concerns, as well as the daily upkeep of the guest rooms and common outdoor area.
This is a live in position, so offers a beautiful live / work opportunity on the beautiful West Coast of Vancouver Island, in Ucluelet, BC.
The caretaker accommodation is a private and fully self contained unit, with bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen, in a waterfront house, with a wall of windows looking out over Spring Cove, and includes hydro, cable, parking, laundry and internet.
This is a permanent part time position, with a GUARANTEED wage top up to 30 hours per pay period. In slow periods, pay will be topped up to the guaranteed amount. As the hospitality industry is very seasonal, we recognize the need to support our staff through the slow times, with a guaranteed liveable wage, and inexpensive accommodation.
Typically, guests schedules are set, well in advance to accommodate scheduling of your personal life or other employment opportunities.

Position requirements:
· Clean and reset guest rooms, in accordance with established standards.
· Interact with guests when meeting them on the common grounds – offer them suggestions on local sights, restaurants and events.
· Deal with any guests concerns or problems that might arise.
· Perform deep cleaning of the rooms and public areas when required.
· Ensuring laundry room and supply storage is always clean and organized.
· Perform other duties as requested, such as unexpected cleans and executing special guest requests.
· Must be able to stand, and exert at a well-paced mobility, for up to 6 hours in length.
· Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
· Note and report maintenance needs to management.
· Using a Google calendar to manage time, to organize cleaning and maintenance schedules between guests stays, and logging hours and details of daily work.
· Light yard work - occasional lawn mowing, and weeding
Previous work in the hospitality industry and or cleaning services.
