POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a strong, professional Night Host & Safety Ambassador to support late night operations at Ucluelet Campground. This role blends guest service, rule enforcement, safety monitoring, and janitorial duties to ensure a quiet, clean, and secure environment for all campers.‑night operations at Ucluelet Campground. Host 2 works four nights per week, Thursday through Sunday, from 9pm to 6am. The shift begins with office coverage for late arrivals and ends with a final registration check and washroom cleaning to prepare for morning guests.

VACATION PAY

Vacation pay is provided in accordance with BC Employment Standards at 4% of gross wages. For seasonal roles, vacation pay is paid out on each payroll.

UNIFORM & PRESENTATION

High visibility gear, branded T-shirts, and branded hoodies are provided. Staff must wear nonslip footwear and be appropriately dressed for overnight office coverage, outdoor patrols, and janitorial duties. Weather appropriate rain gear is required at times, and durable work pants are strongly recommended.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Services & Office Coverage

• Keeping the office open after 9pm for late arrivals and walk‑ins
• Using booking software to register guests and confirm reservations
• Ensuring all campers are checked in and assigned correctly
• Handling basic cash and card transactions

Campground Safety & Rule Enforcement

• Conducting routine walks around the property
• Enforcing quiet hours, fire restrictions, and campground rules
• Promoting bear safety and bare campsite policies
• Responding to after‑hours emergencies onsite

Janitorial Duties

• Deep cleaning of men’s, women’s, and accessible washroom buildings
• Cleaning laundry room and wiping down machines
• Servicing outdoor portable flushable washrooms
• Ensuring facilities are ready for morning guests

STAFF SITE

• Water, sewer, and electric hookups provided
• Must have your own RV/trailer/unit
• Access to shared washroom facilities
• Quiet hours and site rules apply
• Staff site rent:
– $250/month (single occupancy)
– $500/month (couple)

 

Qualifications 

Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all-weather
• Strong customer service and public relations skills
• Firm but calm demeanor; confident enforcing rules professionally
• Comfortable working independently overnight
• Able to use booking software and handle basic cash transactions
• Willing to learn basic maintenance tasks (e.g., unblocking toilets)
• Positive attitude and attention to
