Overview
The Break Café & Bistro is located in beautiful Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We serve up tasty homemade brunch, as well as delicious pastries, coffee, and frozen pre-made grocery items. We are currently hiring a part-time barista experienced in all things caffeinated and decaffeinated to join our team of passionate humans! The successful candidate should have an excellent working knowledge of operating a commercial espresso machine and experience in creating specialty drinks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Prepare the coffee bar for service at the beginning of each shift
Greet customers and take coffee/food orders
Ensure all supplies are restocked before and after each shift
Adjust grind and pour times throughout the day as needed
Ability to make different coffee types and tea blends
Keep station tidy and clean throughout the day
Replenish any inventory as needed
Cash handling

Qualifications

Able to create latte art

Steam milk and milk substitutes effectively

Demonstrate excellent customer service

Strong time management skills

Team player

Education

Secondary school diploma is required

Post-secondary school diploma is considered an asset

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience preparing coffee in a fast-paced environment

How to Apply

This position is part-time, 2-3 days per week, consisting of approximately 16-24 hours per week, must be available on Sundays, comes with an early morning schedule leaving plenty of time for evening surfs and adventures.
