We are seeking an experienced and qualified individual to plan, prepare and provide meals for our crews working in Ahousaht. This is a remote location that requires excellent logistical skills. There will be up to 20 crew members to provide meals for, but usually 10.
Skytec facilitates a shuttle from Port Alberni and a boat from Tofino to Ahousaht on regularly scheduled basis. Coordinating with this supply chain is a key part of groceries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with skills in food preparation, kitchen operations, budgeting and exceptional organizational skills.

Duties:
•Meal Planning
•Budget Groceries
•Coordinate Grocery Orders and Delivery; handle food inventory, including receiving deliveries and storing items appropriately. •Meal Preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly handled.
•Cook Hot Dinners
•Prepare Packed Lunches for Crew
•Prepare and Oversee Continental Breakfast
•Maintain Cleanliness and Organization of the Kitchen and Dining Area.
•Wash Dishes
•Follow Food Safety Guidelines, ensure health and safety.
•Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred
•Culinary Training an asset: apprenticeship, trade certification, or equivalency
•Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
•Independent and Self-Directed
•Food Safe Certification: familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen
•Strong time management skills to ensure meals are served on schedule
•Strong logistical and organizational skills
•Positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure
