Start Date: Negotiable
Location: Tofino, BC
Work Setting: Kombucha Micro Brewery
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, daytime shifts

Compensation: $18/hr to start then $20/hr, plus full benefits after a 3-month probationary period with an opportunity for growth. Wage may be negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brew kombucha in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure
  • Adherence to and compliance with Food Safety and Sanitation Plans
  • Measure and document ingredients, sources, lot numbers, Ph readings, etc
  • Clean and sanitize kegs, fermentation vessels, and brite tanks
  • Cleaning and tidying of packaging equipment and surrounding areas
  • Operate boilers, pumps, and other brewery equipment
  • Assist with keeping inventory of raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products
  • Assist with operation of automated canning system
  • Fulfill online orders and prepare distributor orders for shipment
  • Perform and complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required
  • Deliver local orders within Tofino and Ucluelet

  • Ability to work in a production environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong record-keeping and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Well-organized and self-directed individual who is also a team player
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Proactive in learning and staying up to date in production methods
  • General computer knowledge/skills
  • Mechanically inclined an asset

Essential Job Functions:

  • Stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping (canning)
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs (lifting kegs and bags of sugar)
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation (canning)
  • Occasional use of ladders
  • Work in wet and cold or hot and humid environments and subject to noise
  • Work with dangerous and hazardous cleaning chemicals

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a brewery setting would be an asset
  • Experience working in a kitchen or food manufacturing setting would be an asset
  • Willing to train the right person

Required License or Certification:

  • Driver's License
  • Food Safe Level 1
