Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize projects and programs for age appropriate for youth in Opitsaht/Tyhistanis/Esowista
  • Provide recreational and supportive activities to program participants
  • Group facilitation planning and collaboration with internal and external resources
  • Understand the demographics, social issues, needs and strengths of persons served and to update this understanding with additional training as required
  • Flexible hours (evenings and weekends) supervision, overnight camping
  • Complete necessary paperwork expectations and ensure that standards are maintained.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of TFN Values and culture an asset
  • Mentorship
  • To lead youth programming 3-4 nights a week and one weekend a month – vary from 3:30 to 8:30pm

The District of Ucluelet, situated on the edge of Vancouver Island's beautiful west coast, is offering a unique opportunity for a qualified candidate interested in fulfilling the role Administrative Clerk.

This is a temporary, full-time position that performs a variety of receptionist, clerical, accounting and cashier duties in support of the general administration of the District of Ucluelet.  Normally, the Administration Clerk reports to the Fire Chief; however, this role will also provide key support for the District of Ucluelet.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties including clerical and staff support, proofreading documents, filing, photocopying and processing mail.
  • Prepares documents and correspondence pertaining to Emergency Management Meetings and Ucluelet Volunteer Fire Brigade Meetings.
  • Responsible for daily front office operations including customer enquiries, answering incoming calls, processing complaints, and providing general information to the public.
  • Assists with basic research and data analysis as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.
  • Performs the duties of a cashier as required, of which duties include but are not limited to the receiving of payments and issuing receipts, recording transaction data, preparing cash receipt entries for deposits as required and daily closeout duties.
  • Perform clerical tasks, such as keyboarding, proof-reading, meeting minute taking, logging data, delivering messages, arranging catering, and running errands and drafting routine correspondence, letters, memos, and reports as required.
  • Maintaining inventory of all office supplies and ordering materials, supplies and inventory as necessary.
  • Receive, process, distribute incoming mail and emails as well as couriered envelopes, packages, and other deliveries; regularly collect, process, and send outgoing mail, courier envelopes and packages.
  • Assist with all aspects of records management and the safekeeping of archival records; including file creation.
  • Assist the Finance department as required.
  • Ensure that all downstairs windows and outside doors are locked every afternoon prior to closing.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent training.
  • Successful completion of a Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in an office environment.
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
  • Will be subject to a criminal record check.

We are seeking someone to join the team that is efficient, energetic, and has a strong attention to detail.  Your key role will be to assist with our weekly farm direct food distribution including organizing, packing, and delivering fruit, vegetable, meat, and specialty good orders to restaurants and businesses. You will also assist with shipping and receiving and keeping our warehouse organized. This is a fast-paced and physical role that requires effective communication skills with the team and excellent tact and customer service working with our membership.

Creative Salmon is Canada’s first producer of certified organic farm-raised salmon, growing Pacific Chinook salmon at 4 sites in the waters of Clayoquot Sound near Tofino.
 
Farm Technicians are responsible for general farm operations such as net cleaning, basic maintenance, assistance during harvesting, feeding and care of fish, operating boats and equipment, as well as other tasks. As the majority of the work is performed outdoors, the ability to tolerate all weather conditions is important.  The Job Demand Analysis rates the physical demands of this position as “Heavy” so applicants must be sufficiently fit to cope with a physically demanding job
 
Because farming is a team effort, reliability and dependable attendance is key.

As the Asset Protection Clerk with Ucluelet Co-op you will be responsible for helping to prevent financial loss from theft and fraud. This role will ensure that all company policies, local, provincial and federal laws are adhered to in the execution of internal and external theft investigations or inquiries.

You will report to and work under the direction of the Asset Protection Manager, with department managers and all staff to ensure objectives are clearly communicated and executed.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • As a team member, you will be informed and properly trained to assist and support local laws relating to Asset Protection initiatives;
  • Ensure Asset Protection Administrative standards are met;
  • Work with staff to ensure minimal store inventory shrink levels that are achieved;
  • Understand and follow, the Asset Protection Manual containing current Co-op asset protection policies, procedures, standards, and check-lists;
  • Assist and support with periodic Asset Protection and Security audits on building security, internal controls, and support Co-op policies and procedures by ensuring compliance and implementing improvements. Advise Asset Protection Manager of any concerns;
  • Keep current on Asset Protection technology and implement strategies;
  • Ensure all security equipment is functional and in good repair (Alarm, CCTV, locks, etc.).
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and urgent issues as they arise.
  • Assist with completion of incident reports/ conducting investigations for, internal and external fraud, theft, and other criminal offences;
  • Testify in criminal court as required, and provide support to team members who may also be required to testify;
  • As directed, you will communicate and enforce policies and procedures to store population;
  • Identify operational deficiencies as they relate to Asset Protection issues and report to Asset Protection Manager in a timely manner;
  • Ensure daily operational checks are completed and inefficiencies handled in a timely fashion.
