JOB SUMMARY

This is a permanent, full-time position. This position reports to the Manager of Recreation & Tourism, in accordance with sound practice and applicable policies, objectives and community facility requirements.

The incumbent is responsible for cleaning and maintaining District of Ucluelet’s facilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Principle Responsibilities

• Cleaning of District facilities.
• Regular cleaning of washrooms throughout the District.
• General maintenance of District Facilities as required.
• Assists with Special Events set-up and clean-up.
• Assists with but not limited to set-up and take down for all programs, meeting and events.
• Carry out work orders associated with District facilities.
• Collection sorting and appropriate disposal of recycling materials.
• Monitoring janitorial and sanitary supplies for all facilities and preparing supply orders.
• Keep all janitorial rooms clean, neat and organized at all times.
• Other duties as required.

Overview
The Break Café & Bistro is located in beautiful Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We serve up tasty homemade brunch, as well as delicious pastries, coffee, and frozen pre-made grocery items. We are currently hiring a part-time barista experienced in all things caffeinated and decaffeinated to join our team of passionate humans! The successful candidate should have an excellent working knowledge of operating a commercial espresso machine and experience in creating specialty drinks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

• Prepare the coffee bar for service at the beginning of each shift
• Greet customers and take coffee/food orders
• Ensure all supplies are restocked before and after each shift
• Adjust grind and pour times throughout the day as needed
• Ability to make different coffee types and tea blends
• Keep station tidy and clean throughout the day
• Replenish any inventory as needed
• Cash handling

Position can be full or part-time, 2-4 days per week however, the candidate must be available on Sundays. This position comes with an early morning schedule leaving plenty of time for evening surfs and adventures

About the Job:

The Area Coordinators role is to connect the new residents to their local community. By presenting them with a welcome package, which includes information about local and community services. In partnership together with local businesses, the Area Coordinators share information about their services, to showcase to the new residents the benefits of shopping local in the community, and what the community has to experience.

The Area Coordinator puts together the welcome packages, and provides a person to person delivery and greeting. Every Area Coordinator is responsible to collect, manage, and deliver items collected from partners and other community services.

• This is an important leadership role. We ask that you dedicate at minimum a half day to one day weekly, although we can accommodate those able to give a few days a month or during times of the year (i.e. summer months, winter months).

• Your schedule will be provided three (2) days ahead of time and will depend on busy days/periods, your preferences and client demand. If you’re not getting as many rides as you’re available to take, we ask you to contact your Transportation Coordinator to discuss changing your availability.

• You are agreeing to initiate and respond with regular, consistent communication between the Transportation Coordinator, clients you are scheduled to drive and other partners including other Wheels of Hope drivers.

Creative Salmon is Canada’s first producer of certified organic farm-raised salmon, growing Pacific Chinook salmon at 4 sites in the waters of Clayoquot Sound near Tofino.

Farm Technicians work five days out of seven. Sites are not camp-based; workers travel a short distance, by company boat, in and out each day. Company transportation to boat launch is also provided. Farm Techs are responsible for general farm operations such as net cleaning, basic maintenance, assistance during harvesting, feeding and care of fish, operating boats and equipment, environmental monitoring, as well as other tasks. Because farming is a team effort, reliability and dependable attendance is key.

Starting wage is $24.21 per hour going to $24.71 after 3 months. Company paid benefits package, paid sick days, safety gear and wellness spending allowance after the wait period (3 consecutive months).

30-40hrs/Week working as a mechanic. Less hours out of season 25-35hrs/week. 

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision the Vacation Home Attendant is responsible for cleaning the suite interior and immediate areas to include patio, balcony and/or deck of the assigned suite in accordance with company policies and procedures, provincial, federal, and local authority guide-lines ensuring a clean, sanitary and inviting suite for the guest. Eligible employees may receive a quarterly bonus if the property achieves established performance measures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Handles all dirty laundry, and replaces all dirty linens with clean items.

• Cleans toilets, basins, mirrors, tubs and showers.
• Wipes down glass surfaces, and washes all windows.
• Makes up beds and change linens.
• Distributes linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand, and restocks room supplies.
• Realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
• Delivers any requested housekeeping items.
• Follows all company safety and security procedures.
• Provides assistance to other team members, including responding to housekeeping problems, as needed or requested.
• Provides assistance to members, owners, and guest to address questions, requests, or concerns; escalates concerns to management as needed.

• Reports any maintenance deficiencies or safety hazards, or damage to the property.
• Ensures confidentiality and security of all suites.

• Supervise, train, and motivate a team of enumerators conducting in-person, door-to-door visits. Crew Leaders also monitor progress and productivity of their team and may conduct in-person follow up when required.
• Receive hourly compensation and are eligible to claim authorized expenses, such as mileage and parking.
• Employment period runs from March 2026 to August 2026, depending on the position and location.
