Creative Salmon is Canada’s first producer of certified organic farm-raised salmon, growing Pacific Chinook salmon at 4 sites in the waters of Clayoquot Sound near Tofino.

Farm Technicians work five days out of seven. Sites are not camp-based; workers travel a short distance, by company boat, in and out each day. Company transportation to boat launch is also provided. Farm Techs are responsible for general farm operations such as net cleaning, basic maintenance, assistance during harvesting, feeding and care of fish, operating boats and equipment, environmental monitoring, as well as other tasks. Because farming is a team effort, reliability and dependable attendance is key.

Starting wage is $24.21 per hour going to $24.71 after 3 months. Company paid benefits package, paid sick days, safety gear and wellness spending allowance after the wait period (3 consecutive months).

Qualifications
Previous experience in an aquaculture or marine setting is an asset, but on-the-job training is provided.

Events Management

The Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of all events including (but not limited to): private, tour and travel, corporate, government, and local events. Your goal will be to plan and organize (from start to finish) all bookings to ensure a successful event. Serving as the main contact for the above listed groups, you will be tasked with making sure no detail is missed. You will act as the coordinator/liaison between the client and the hotel. You will provide support to the food and beverage team to ensure plans translate into action. This role is fast paced and provides an opportunity to be a key part of our sales and event team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact for clients
  • Meet with clients and perform site inspections/tours as required
  • Maintain a consistent level of Conference Planning Guides, Brochures
  • Respond to client inquiries and complaints
  • Create contracts and estimated quotations to the clients
  • Book groups using the reservation system
  • Prepare and organize all documents pertaining to each event
  • Ensure proper set up of event
  • Ensure Banquet supplies for tables and service is available for each event.
  • Act as the lead and main contact on event day(s)
  • Provide support to the events team

  • Develop effective client relationship management
  • Follow-up with payment

Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations Administration seeks a highly motivated individual with a strong eye for detail to fill the full-time position of Accounts Receivable Payroll Clerk. Based out of the Tla-o-qui-aht Office in Tofino, applicants will be reporting to the Manager of Finance on all aspects of accounts receivable, payroll.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable

  • Track and process all credit balances, refunds, adjustments, received payments and reimbursements to appropriate accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Post, file and track all received payments as per the Nation’s accounting practices, including assisting in the maintenance of the general ledgers.
  • Prepare and provide requested reports on responsibilities, including updated general ledger details and the housing report.
  • Administer the process for travel claim reimbursements, including the submission and tracking of the reimbursements.
  • Oversee the tenant’s statements of accounts, including preparing invoices, collecting payments, issuing receipts, and updating the account information.
  • Investigate and resolve collection problems.

 

Payroll

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely for the Nation’s staff.
  • Acquire and review staff timesheets for accuracy, completeness, and signature.
  • Maintain an accurate database of relevant employee information to process payroll and ensure that resulting payroll changes are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Oversee the distribute of paystubs to staff.
  • Administer the Nation’s benefits programs for the staff, including staff enrolment and benefit payments.
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll regulations and standards.
  • Compile and track payroll data including leaves of absences, insurance payments, and payroll deductions.
  • Follow the Nation’s payroll procedures for establishing and terminating employees
  • Prepare government remittances, including WorkSafeBC remittances.
  • Create and distribute T4s.
  • Respond to employee and government agency inquires in regards to payroll.

Qualifications

Education, training and certificates

  • High School Diploma
  • Post secondary diploma in business of administration, finance or accounting

Work experience

  • 4 year experience in an administration setting, working with finances and payroll

The Operations Coordinator is in charge of the general day-to-day administration of the RES and is responsible for managing RES events, office admin duties, daily and monthly bookkeeping tasks as well as assisting with grant reporting and program development. The RES is a small and tightly knit team. We are looking for someone who can work well in a group, but is self-motivated; someone who is detail-oriented but still enjoys enjoys variety and flexibility; someone who shares the values of the organization but is eager to try new things and help us keep growing!

Qualifications

An ideal candidate will be:

• Extremely detail-oriented and a bit of a perfectionist. While a high degree of creativity and flexibility is an asset, an ability to meet deadlines and stay organized even when things get hectic is imperative.
• Reliable: Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
• Experienced in the non-profit sector, especially as pertains to grant writing and reporting, financial management (QuickBooks), general bookkeeping and community engagement.
• Very comfortable and confident working independently. While this position involves close collaboration with others, an ability to work independently with minimal oversight is critical.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with ongoing research and monitoring programs carried by the RES and other collaborating organizations. This includes assisting with data collection in the field (e.g., surveys, scientific sampling, etc.) as well assisting with data entry and analysis.
• Supporting core programs of the RES by assisting with other tasks as required, including helping run and organize weekend and evening events.
• Assist with preparing material to be included in grant applications or other fundraising efforts.

Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ business is conducted through virtual platforms such as Zoom until further notice.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Chairperson is responsible to act as the presiding member of the Legislature at meetings of the Legislature and to manage the affairs of the Legislature. The Chairperson is also responsible to act as the Chairperson at all meetings of the Hitacu Assembly. Please see Part 3 of the Legislature Rules of Order and Procedure Act for a full description of the Duties and Powers of the Chairperson. For detailed information on the selection process of the Chairperson, please see Part 2 of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government Act YFNS 2/2011. The first meeting of the Legislature for the 2019 – 2023 term will be held no later than May 15, 2019

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Prefer an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or related degree
  • Grade 12 with a combination of relevant training and experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ucluelet Co-op is Hiring! We are looking for a Part Time Deli Clerk, with possibility of full time by summer.

Previous deli and/or food experience is a plus, but not necessary – we will train the right applicant.

As a Deli Clerk with the Ucluelet Co-op, you are responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising the deli products. At the Co-op, it is our priority to provide only the freshest and highest quality products.Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
  • Provide outstanding courteous customer service
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all Ucluelet Co-op policies and procedures
  • Prepare, wrap, price and stock product as required and assigned
  • Maintain and display all types of meat products according to standards
  • Provide proper maintenance of equipment, monitor case temperatures and clean equipment regularly
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all sanitation and personal hygiene policies of the co-op and government legislation
  • Advise the manager when orders for replenishment of inventory are required and ensure proper mark-down reports
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Flexible, must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs
Qualifications
  • A secondary school diploma is preferred
  • Previous retail experience is considered an asset
  • Food preparation experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours
  • Physically demanding; frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs
