Ucluelet and Area Childcare Society  is looking to hire an Early Childhood Educator with an Infant Toddler Certificate to join our growing team and work at our new Infant/Toddler Centre - Little Beans.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Ensure a healthy and safe environment for infants and toddlers
• Provide excellent supervision and interaction with children at all times
• Assist in planning and implementing age appropriate programs
• Establish and maintain an orderly and clean environment
• Assist Site Supervisor and Daycare Director in daily activities

• $150.00 per trip[ or $300.00 per day

Comfort First Early Learning offers Emergent Curriculum programing with our GCC (30 mon - 5 year),

and infant and Toddler rooms. We schedule 5 - 6 weeks off annually and offer professional and team building. It is the companies goal to exceed child to educator ratios.

You understand that cancer can change everything and that accessing critical programs and services creates a whole new level of community. You recognize that the Wheels of Hope program requires flexibility, as we respond to the continually changing schedules of current clients and other drivers. You enjoy meeting a variety of people and have the patience to deal with the times you may be waiting for a client to finish treatment. You can represent CCS positively as you interact with members of the public and are a guest in facilities like Hospitals, Cancer Centres and Lodges. You are ready to do your best to make a client’s ride to treatment one less thing they have to worry about, allowing them the space and focus to handle their journey in their own way. You are comfortable using online tools, like email and our scheduling software. You have a valid driver’s license with 3 or fewer demerit points and an acceptable driving record. You carry a minimum of $1M third party liability insurance on your 100% smoke-free vehicle and are willing to have a criminal records check, and regular driver abstract checks.

• This is an important leadership role. We ask that you dedicate at minimum a half day to one day weekly, although we can accommodate those able to give a few days a month or during times of the year (i.e. summer months, winter months).

• Your schedule will be provided three (2) days ahead of time and will depend on busy days/periods, your preferences and client demand. If you’re not getting as many rides as you’re available to take, we ask you to contact your Transportation Coordinator to discuss changing your availability.

• You are agreeing to initiate and respond with regular, consistent communication between the Transportation Coordinator, clients you are scheduled to drive and other partners including other Wheels of Hope drivers.

• As a volunteer, you are a representative and ambassador who promotes the mission and value of the organization.

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision the Vacation Home Attendant is responsible for cleaning the suite interior and immediate areas to include patio, balcony and/or deck of the assigned suite in accordance with company policies and procedures, provincial, federal, and local authority guide-lines ensuring a clean, sanitary and inviting suite for the guest. Potential Staff Accommodation available. Eligible employees may receive a quarterly bonus if the property achieves established performance measures. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Sweeps, scrubs, mops and polishes floors.
• Vacuums carpets, rugs and draperies.
• Inspects and turns mattresses regularly.
• Handles all dirty laundry, and replaces all dirty linens with clean items.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and fittings.
• Cleans ovens, fridges and all appliances.
• Empties and cleans trash containers, and disposes of trash in a sanitary manner.
• Cleans toilets, basins, mirrors, tubs and showers.
• Wipes down glass surfaces, and washes all windows.
• Makes up beds and change linens.
• Distributes linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand, and restocks room supplies.
• Realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
• Delivers any requested housekeeping items.
• Follows all company safety and security procedures.
• Provides assistance to other team members, including responding to housekeeping problems, as needed or requested.
• Provides assistance to members, owners, and guest to address questions, requests, or concerns; escalates concerns to management as needed.
• Immediately secures any lost & found items and turns them in to Security and/or management.
• Reports any maintenance deficiencies or safety hazards, or damage to the property.
• Ensures confidentiality and security of all suites.

Schedule:

• 4 days a week [approx. 30 hours] must be available for weekend
