This Job Posting page is updated daily with local postings directly from employers, WorkBC, other websites, and from newspapers. We only include listings for jobs in the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District of Vancouver Island BC. Job-seekers are encouraged to check for additional postings on other websites, like those listed in the Job Postings section of our Links page.

A job listing on this page, or linked to this page from another site, in no way implies that Alberni Valley Employment Centre has any knowledge of or provides endorsement for the products, services, or employment practices of an employer. We do not review the content of job postings linked to our site from other sites, and we are not responsible for that content. The Alberni Valley Employment Centre is not a recruitment service, and we are not responsible for any arrangements made between employers and applicants.

As of November 1st, 2023 the BC Pay Transparency Act requires that all public job postings include wage information. Please see our Post a Job page under the Employers menu for more details. We require a wage to post directly to our page, but we have no control over the content on external job posting websites.

Some employers ask that their business name be omitted from a job posting; we respect that request and will not provide the name to applicants.

Jobs without specified deadlines are listed for two weeks, and postings may be pulled at any time on the request of the employer.

This is a physically active, customer-facing position best suited for someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in community service, and is comfortable working independently.

The Wharf Assistant is a key part of a small, dedicated team, reporting directly to the harbour manager. While the harbour manager oversees administrative and operational planning, the Wharf Assistant focuses on harbour oversight, maintenance, and user support.
