Whaler’s Guesthouse – Tofino Hostel is hiring a Housekeeping Manager to join our team. You will play a key role in maintaining the high cleanliness standards that our guests consistently appreciate. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, working hands-on with their team, and taking ownership of their department in a supportive, family-like environment.

Job duties and responsibilities:
– Select and order supplies and cleaning equipment and maintain an inventory of housekeeping supplies, cleaning products, linens, equipment, and staff uniforms.
– Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training and reviewing housekeeping staff, and provide input on hiring decisions and performance of the housekeeping team.
– Coordinate scheduling of housekeeping staff and assign daily cleaning duties to ensure efficient operations of our housekeeping team.
– Oversee the activities of the housekeeping team, including planning and coordinating cleaning activities, conducting regular inspections of guest rooms and communal spaces, and ensuring cleaning and quality standards and safety regulations are met.
– Develop, implement, and update housekeeping and cleaning procedures to support efficient daily operations.
– Coordinate routine maintenance and report repair needs, working closely with maintenance personnel and external service providers when required.
– Arrange servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance for housekeeping equipment to ensure it remains in safe working condition.

Tofino Photobooth is looking for a friendly, reliable, and outgoing Event Attendant to help bring the fun to weddings, corporate events, parties, and special celebrations throughout Tofino and Ucluelet. This is the perfect side gig for someone looking to earn extra income while working at some of the most beautiful events on the West Coast. Events are usually 2.5-4 hours between 6-11pm.

What You'll Do

• Set up and take down our photobooth equipment
• Welcome guests and encourage participation

Tofino Fishing and Trading and Storm Light Outfitters are looking for full time and part time retail sales staff. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, cash handling and computer experience and will be a team player. 

During your shifts you will:

• Assist Customers

Provide assessment, treatment planning and implementation for clients of the program who are (0-18) and/or their families in the Westcoast area.  The position aids youth that are at risk because of exceptional emotional, behavioural and environmental needs.  Support is given in the form of counselling, mentoring and positive role modeling to provide realistic goals.

Reporting and accountable to the Director of Instruction – Inclusive Education, the primary responsibilities of this position are to work as part of the multi-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional integrated child and youth team to provide therapeutic counselling services and school liaison support for children, youth and families experiencing mild/moderate mental health needs, and to manage and oversee the Youth Peer Support Worker position.

This role includes outreach work with the community to support a cluster of Public, Independent and First Nations operated schools within the geographic region.

This role is required to be available to perform time-sensitive work outside of regular (9-5) working hours as required, e.g., emergency counselling to children and youth and their families.

Job Duties

We offer good starting wage of $23/h that goes up to $25/h after training has finished, fun environment to work in and great balance between work and personal life.
