➢ Educate and advise the patient and their family members regarding appropriate home care support and consult with the family members to ensure that these needs are being met.
➢ Stay current on the patients health and care needs and liaison with healthcare professionals, if necessary.
➢ Advocate on behalf of the patients for additional service and resources, as required.
➢ Track and maintain a record of home care support being provided to the patients.

The Visitor Information Counsellor is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Centre under the direction of the Visitor Centre Supervisor. This includes ensuring that the Visitor Centre is represented to the public in a pleasing, organized and professional manner. Full training for this position is provided upon commencement of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist visitors in a professional, prompt and friendly manner via email, phone, mail, in person
  • Research relevant community information (events, services, facilities) that may be of interest to visitors
  • Keep brochure racks and storage organized and well-stocked. Re-order brochures when necessary
  • Maintain and update files and reference materials for the Visitor Centre on a continual basis
  • Post current information of interest to the visitor (Road Reports, Chamber of Commerce updates, Member info, Tourist Alerts, Weather, Fisheries, etc.)
  • Assist visitors with accommodations, tours, ferry reservations etc. in response to visitor requests as needed/requested
  • Make sales transactions for merchandise sold in the Visitor Centre
  •  Keep up-to-date and organized daily statistics
  • Provide visitor services at special events or festivals throughout the season
  • Assist the Visitor Centre Supervisor with other day-to-day administrative duties such as filing, correspondence, mail outs, website research and fulfilling Tofino Discovery Guide requests
Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

  • Candidate must be extremely outgoing and enthusiastic
  • Candidate must have knowledge of attractions and tourism products/services in the Tofino area and Vancouver Island
  • Must work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, customer service skills, telephone and organizational abilities
  • Access to a vehicle is preferred-ability to drive standard would be a strong asset
  • Good working knowledge of computers, specifically Microsoft Office, internet search engines and social media
  • Some weekend work required
  • Some lifting and moving of boxes and equipment; equipment setup sometimes required
  • Second language an asset

Terms

  • Preference will be given to qualified local candidates residing in the Tofino-Long Beach area
  • Position is based on 16-20 hours per week Nov – April; becoming 37.5 hours per week, May – Oct
  • Work is to be performed primarily from the Tourism Tofino Cox Bay Visitor Centre
  • A 3-month probationary period and evaluation for new employees is required

Qualifications

Pharmasave Tofino is now hiring a full time employee. The position is 32 hours per weekly with the element of flexibility and will start at $16.00 an hour. The position will have a strong focus on customer service and cashiering, brand management, knowledge and general responsibility of store presence and appearance. We are looking for someone who is personable, engaging and has personal interest in health and wellness. Only those selected for interviews will be contacted. ABOUT US
The AMAZING little gift shop… located in beautiful Tofino, British Columbia… offering reasonably priced unique gifts such as handcrafted island pottery and glassware, hand-made clothing, and accessories that are made of natural materials. We are looking for that talented and knowledgeable person to assist the management team to achieve the sales goals and marketing objectives.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
•   Directs gift shop operations in a manner consistent with operational mission, values and strategies
•   Assists in drafting and reviewing gift shop policies and procedures
•   Helps to prepare draft business plan with annual and long term goals and objectives
•   Reviews the draft business plan with the management team and contribute to implementation 
•   Consults regularly with the management team, regarding troubleshooting and problem solving.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•   Maintains accurate daily cash accounting records and uses proven methods for efficient operations
•   Assists with preparing daily, monthly and annual financial reports
•   Helps to maintain accurate and current vendor files, merchandise records and invoice payments
•   Supervises the counting and reporting of cash, debit and credit card revenues, and bank deposits
•   Assists with preparing and overseeing an annual budget
MERCHANDISE AND BUYING OPERATIONS
•   Researches and makes recommendations on quality merchandise that best meets market demands
•   Establishes and maintains positive rapport with local artists and craftspeople
•   Maintains accurate inventory records and price controls
·      Prepares detailed product information for marketing and promotion of products
•   Maintain adequate inventory levels for sales volume
•   Assist in the planning, and organizing of special events and promotions
REQUIREMENTS AND OUTCOMES
•   Computers and POS equipment, communications & marketing skills, social media savvy
·      Produces accurate and comprehensive financial reports; sales history, profits,
·      inventory at cost and retail values, quantities on hand, quantities on order,
·      Profit margins for each item, vendor and category. 
GIFT SHOP DEVELOPMENT
•   Coordinates general maintenance of Gift Shop
•   Assists management team in planning merchandise displays and shop appearance
REMUNERATION
$15.00 per hour plus $2000.00 ‘end of season’ BONUS
EMPLOYMENT TERMS
This is a 6-month employment opportunity (5 days a week – Apr 1st to Sep 30th, 2018).  
Quarterly evaluation with wage reviews will be based on merit, the performance of the gift shop and increased profits. Depending on outcomes, this position could transition into year round employment.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
The Assistant Gift Shop Manager reports to the Management Team.

 

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 2 years retail sales and management experience

Our company, Ucluelet Harbour Seafoods (UHS), processes and ships seafood from our Canadian operations in Ucluelet, BC. Canada. Our parent company, Pacific Seafood, has been in business for 75 years. We own and operate 2 facilities in Ucluelet and process locally caught shrimp, ground fish species and Pacific Whiting (Hake) to our markets around the world. We also produce 80 tons of ice a day for our fishing vessels. UHS employs over 200 workers seasonally; 50 of those are employed year round.
