We are looking for a passionate and motivated instructor to spread their love of the ocean with others! We teach daily beginner surf lessons, intermediate surf lessons and surf camps. As well as surf lessons, your daily duties would include maintaining surf and safety equipment and transporting equipment to the beach. Wage is negotiable depending on experience. We include 40 hours of paid training  when you begin with us.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current drivers license

Qualifications

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and enthusiastically in a warm and professional manner
  • Assisting with bookings, payments, weigh-in, waivers, and harness and helmet fittings
  • Outfit guests according to WestCoast Wild safety guidelines
  • Display professional leadership, interact with guests in an humorous, engaging and friendly manner while providing an educational and exhilarating interpretive experience 
  • Identify and manage risk, display the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Daily Course inspections and documentation for safety, cleanliness, and supplies Inspecting harnesses, pulleys, carabineers, and helmets for integrity and cleanliness.
  • Manage tour timing efficiently to meet operational time requirements
  • Perform safety briefing, hooking and unhooking guests to cable, Setting and operating brake ropes, tying required knots, performing retrievals and rescues,
  • Perform first aid and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and technical protocols at all times
  • General upkeep and appearance of the guest services area, parking lot, and adjacent areas
  • Be prepared to assist in manual labor such as trail building, construction and cleaning.

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of basic climbing equipment, and knots, belaying, rappelling
  • A passion for ecology and sharing the outdoors

Experience

  • Previous experience working or playing at heights

Night Auditor Responsibilities  

  • Report to the Rooms Division Manager & Accounting Department. 
  • Shift from 11pm-7am. 
  • Responsible for all daily balancing, posting and nightly controls pertaining to the departments   at Tofino Resort + Marina. 
  • Verify charges posted from POS software reached the correct guest folio account, supported by documentary evidence and no missing signatures. 
  • Run end of day process in property management software (PMS) and final balancing of departments.
  • Guest Services, check-in, check-out. Answer reservation calls & posting to guest accounts.
  • Complete knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Verifies that room rates are correct and posts those rates to guest accounts.
  • Monitors the current status of coupon, discount, and other promotional programs.
  • Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front office statistics. 
  • Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities. 
  • Summarizes results of operations for management. 
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information.
  • Knows how to operate PMS (WebRez) and other front office equipment.

Job Summary 

As the Adventure Specialist, you will be the face of adventure at our resort, and often the first point of contact with customers as they step onto our docks, ready for adventure.  The Adventure Specialist is responsible for performing and overseeing all aspects of the Dock while on duty. Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver highest level of professionalism and customer service for all fishing and ocean adventure tours on site while taking care of all moorage and hotel guests encountered. 
  • Assist with implementation of departmental safety procedures and participate in scheduled training exercises 
  • Prepare and maintain equipment on all vessels required for tours 
  • Safely operate TRM vessels to deliver wildlife, adventure and fishing tours and provide a high quality tour experience for guests  
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout assigned boat  
  • Follow all TRM Marine Adventure Centre SOP’s, spill response guidelines and adhere to all Transport Canada requirements.  
  • Prompt communication with Marine Adventure Centre office with regards to shifts and scheduling 
  • Champion “best practices” when it comes to the marine environment and all things that live in it.

Job Summary

As the Dock Supervisor, you supervise the team that are the face of adventure at our resort, and often the first face customers see as they step off the boat of float plane, ready for adventure.  The Dock Supervisor is responsible for performing and overseeing all aspects of the Dock while on duty. A good knowledge of both the dock and Adventure desk duties is also essential.  About the role:  

Core Job Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Supervise dock team, support Adventure Centre team and assist in Marine Adventure Centre as required
  • Supported by Adventure + Marine Operations Manager ensure property and assets are maintained, monitored and presented in a manner that is keeping with the marina standards and marina asset maintenance schedule
  • Oversee daily dock operations and ensure any maintenance issues or concerns are reported to management immediately (fuel, receiving and departing boats) 
  • Create, implement and deliver marina policies and procedures, ensuring that all marina staff conduct their duties in the same manner lead by example
  • Managing customer experience including customer feedback  
  • Assist in moving boats as required
  • Learn and use TRM software

Daily Dock duties including:

  • Greet guests, TRM vessels and float planes, help dock and ensure guests are moored in the correct slip and assist with fish totes and show the onsite facilities including ice room, guest showers and washrooms
  • Prepare guests for tours and take to TRM vessel
  • Follow Transport Canada and TRM marina rules and SOPs including spill response guidelines
  • Rental boat program checking boats/guests in and out
  • Keep docks and moorage facilities clean and well maintained  
  • Assist in charter office if needed

Role responsibilities

Daily MAC responsibilities including:

  • Responsible for promoting and selling various adventure tours and packages, including Whale Watching, Bear Watching, Hot Springs Cove or Fishing trips
  • Responsible for checking in/out moorage, tours, hotel guests, float plane flights and rental vessels and equipment
  • Operating the POS system to process all sales related to marina and hotel including retail
  • Ensure clear communication and tour planning to enable delivery of safe and enjoyable tours including booking captains, VHF communication and accurate waivers completion
  • Assisting with tying up Float Planes and TRM tour vessels as required 
  • Answer phone calls and email enquiries
