We are a small and independent cafe, owned and operated by hospitality professionals.  Our focus is to provide the community with a warm and welcoming space to connect, offering a creative food and beverage menu of seasonal, local, and organic ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  We take a great deal of pride in what we do and hope that you do too!

We are searching for the following position:

Sous Chef - Permanent full time/year round.  Must be available evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities of the position:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and cooking.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create innovative menu items that align with restaurant standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training on food handling and safety practices.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Handle food storage, ensuring proper labeling, rotation, and sanitation practices are followed.
  • Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff assignments to ensure efficient workflow.

Requirements of the positon:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie for a minimum of 3 years.
  • A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively and familiarity with restaurant management practices and food service operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, efficient, great communication skills, and superior attention to detail. Reliable and calm under pressure.
  • A cheerful disposition and strong work ethic, and self motivated to develop your skills and industry knowledge.

What we can supply you:

  • Competitive wages based on experience and a generous hourly tip rate. $50,000-$60,000 per year depending on experience
