Are you committed to a path of reconciliation and work with Indigenous partners and Parks Canada team members to realize shared objectives, want to work with Indigenous partners to help sustain the ecosystems & environment, and support increased economic opportunities related to Indigenous tourism at heritage places? 

In this role (PM04), you oversee a team of 2 and together will be delivering the marine management part of Pacific Rim NPR with the Nuu-chah-nulth Nations and Parks Canada. You are also part of the First Nations Program management team. The program can be challenging but also very awarding. Working with Nuu-chah-nulth Nations of Pacific Rim NPR, you and your team will be learning the many differences and needs of the nations. Your work day is filled with conversations and interactions with all nine Nations, Parks Canada team members, consultants, and partners. You take the time to get to know others through understanding what is important to them and establish strong relationships based on trust. You are an active and key member of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve team and the Pacific Rim First Nations program. You will provide advice and guidance to colleagues about First Nations and Traditional Knowledge and regularly advise Parks Canada senior management about opportunities and challenges to develop strategies to move forward. As a result, you are able to innovate and pursue collaborative, creative approaches and work on exciting marine management initiatives.

Qualifications 
  • Successful completion of secondary school education OR an acceptable combination of education training and / or experience
  • Ability to communicate (orally and written). You have a way with words and communicate clearly. You are able to articulate your thoughts in written form.
  • Ability to manage, research, and prioritize files. You can manage many files at multiple times and successfully prioritize files.
  • Ability to be a team player. Working with a team is your motto--moving together as a unit. Working with partners is a specialty for you. PM04--you can direct and guide a team to success.
  • Ability to manage and deal with conflicts and ever changing environments.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous people. You have worked with Indigenous people, knowledge of Indigenous culture, history and traditions.
