For the current upcoming 2019 season our businesses will be looking to fill three positions, which you may find the job descriptions outlined below. Our Dockside Smoked Fish Store is a great attraction with the best Wild Caught, Sustainably Harvested and Naturally Smoked Salmon you can find in Tofino, we also sell island produced canned fish/shellfish products among many other delicacies.
Himwitsa Lodge Housekeeping/ Dockside Smoked Fish Store Sales Representative
This is a combination position between the Lodge and Smoked Fish Store Hiring one full time employee for the 2019 season; duties will include but are not limited to:
• Changing over rooms when guests depart from their stay with us
• Cycling laundry
• Providing room attendant service when requested on stay-overs longer than two nights
• Assisting customers with product knowledge in the fish store
• Assisting customers with sales using a standard POS Terminal System • Restocking of product within the fish store
• General maintenance within the fish store
• Dusting/Cleaning displays, floors, and surfaces in the fish store
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Training will be provided no previous experience is required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 301bs
• Must be able to arrive on time for required shifts and retain exemplary time management skills
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, sales and working on the floor require standing/walking consecutively for the duration of shifts
• Must be able to work well independently as well as in a group
• Food Safe Level 1 Certification an asset
• Must keep entire work space clean and completely sanitary this is very important within the food service industry.
