The Long Beach Golf Course is seeking a dynamic, personable individual to join our team as a Pro Shop Assistant/ Food & Beverage Assistant for the 2015 season. This is a full time position and will involve 2 days a week in the Pro Shop and 2 - 3 Food & Beverage shifts.
The Assistant will be responsible for providing operational support in Golf Pro Shop ensuring excellent customer service, operational flow and management of bookings and sales. The Food & Beverage Assistant component will involve assisting in Men's & Ladies Nights, running of the beverage cart, bartending,and general set up and take down, and working tournaments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist golfers & guests in an informative and helpful way
General reception duties: answering the telephone, booking tee times, greeting guests, sales, management of equipment, ensuring cleanliness of golf shop and equipment.
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Handle complaints and concerns of guests
Provide food and beverage product knowledge
Drive beverage cart
Use proper serving techniques
Practice responsible alcohol service
Cash out and reconcile cash with total sales
Basic computer and social media skills
Qualifications:
Previous golf experience is an asset
Previous food and beverage experience is an asset
Retail experience
Excellent communication skills required
Professional appearance and attitude
Excellent customer service skills
Cash handling experience is an asset
Time management skills
Previous point of sale system experience an asset
Knowledge of safety and sanitation process when handling food & beverage
Serving It Right certification
Working conditions:.
Flexible, must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, nights as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs
Physical requirements:.
Constant standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours
Able to lift and carry objects, up to 25 lbs
Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
